Chef David Myers is on a lifelong mission to bring the world to his guests. An enthusiastic globe-trotter, the Chef’s passion for international discovery and travel is only matched by his dedication to delivering dining experiences that are as unique and unforgettable as the places that inspired them.
From his earliest kitchen experience with Chicago legend Charlie Trotter, to his years with iconic French chef Daniel Boulud, David has been recognized for his culinary talent and artistry. He has collected an impressive list of awards, including a Michelin Star for his inventive debut restaurant Sona in Los Angeles. He was also one of Food & Wine magazine’s “Best New Chefs” in 2003, Angeleno’s “Chef of the Year” in 2004, and one of GQ’s “Men of Style” for 2008. The James Beard Foundation nominated Myers for “Rising Star Chef of the Year” in 2004 and “Best Chef Pacific” in 2008.
In 2007, he opened his second restaurant, Comme Ça, a classic French brasserie in Los Angeles, and in 2010, successfully expanded the concept to Las Vegas, where Comme Ça is featured at The Cosmopolitan Hotel. Comme Ça was named to Conde Nast Traveler’s “Hot Table” in 2008, and has been singled out for the “Best Burger in Los Angeles” by LA Weekly’s Pulitzer Prize Winning critic Jonathan Gold, and Gayot’s “Top 10 Burgers” list.
Myers opened Pizzeria Ortica in Costa Mesa in 2009. An ode to Italy, the restaurant delivers a treasure of authentic dishes including hand-made Neapolitan pizzas traditional antipasti and house-made pastas. C Magazine named the pizzeria “Best of Los Angeles: Newport Beach 2010”, while Sunset Magazine awarded it as “California’s Best Pizza” (2010). Orange Coast listed it in “Orange County’s Best Desserts” (2010) and “Top 10 Places to Eat Now” (2011).
In late 2010, David expanded his restaurant group internationally, focusing first on his beloved Japan. SOLA by David Myers, is a high-end patisserie located in Mitsukoshi Ginza, Tokyo and Isetan Shinjuku, Tokyo. David Myers Café, a California-inspired restaurant featuring Japanese ingredients, also opened at Mitsukoshi Ginza, Tokyo.
With limitless horizon in front of him, Myers has only begun his journey and will continue to add his artistry to the global culinary experience for guests around the world.
